My name is Melanie Granger, and I was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer when I was 48 years old. I did six weeks of chemo and radiation every day, unfortunately the cancer still wanted to grow. At this point surgery was the next step.

My stoma saved my life, but left me unsure of my new way of living. I was finding my colostomy bag would come out at the bottom of my shirt sometimes. Needless to say, this was very embarrassing. I tried using stoma bag covers, but I found they would make my bag leak.

I needed to find a way to make it look better without reinventing the colostomy bag.

That's what led to StomaSwag: I hope this is a way for others to be a little more secure, or just have some fun.
